IT'S A HEART ISSUE
Remember as children we made buddy packs. We would swear to be friends forever. We would even sign it with a pinky swear. With some friends we decided to be blood brothers and sisters. We would prick the tips of our fingers and join them together as a covenant of eternal friendship. I got your back and you got mine. We are not just friends, but we are blood brothers and sisters because we have cut covenant with one another. The ultimate covenant was made on the cross when Jesus' blood was shed. Not one drop of that blood was wasted. It flowed downward for some 2,000 years to cover us and cleanse us from our sins. It was a heart issue.
Men will greet each other with a thump in the chest and two pointed fingers. This signified an unwritten universal bond between them. It is a heart issue. Those that are blessed among us who are mute and use sign language will cross the arms over the heart to show love. It is a heart issue.
LOVE is a heart issue. There will be no commitment, no faithfulness and no loyalty unless there is a heart issue. If your heart is not in it, chances are that your mind, your thoughts, your abilities won't be either. Never force a person to participate in any organization or program. The scripture says if you are willing and obedient you will eat the good of the land. That means you have to want to. How big is your 'wan to'? If you have to be tortured into a position your heart is not in it and more then likely you will do a pitiful job.
The HEART is not just that organ that pumps blood throughout your body, but rather it is the spirit of a man. Do you have a GOOD heart? Proverbs 23:7a "For as he thinketh in his heart so is he…" The mind, where we think, house our feelings, tabulates conclusions for us; makes reasonable deductions. The mind makes decisions for us. It causes us to say what we say, to act the way we act and to believe what we believe. It is here where we speculate about our brother and sisters; some stuff we don't even know. Before the mouth speaks the mind, the heart draws the conclusion. Out of the heart comes the issues of life. So, our heart well represents who we are.
This scripture also warns us. "Eat and drink saith he to thee, but his heart is not with thee." We must watch those that eat and drink with us, because there heart may not be with us. There are those who are among you, but not with you. It's a heart issue!
