I Won't Give Up
Because God Has Promised Me A Land
Part I
We are living in perilous times. There is troubled on every side. We find ourselves perplexed, persecuted and cast down with foolishness and mayhem. People are confused and depressed. The suicide rate is on the rise. Foreclosures and repossessions are on a steady increase. The unemployment rate is high. What do we do? Even our children want to give up the race; they are dropping out of school when education is so important to their future. Now more than ever, we need to encourage, we need to lift people up and we need to give people the ANSWER. They need to know that there is a way out. Don't throw in the towel. Don't give up now. Don't quit. Hang on in there. God has promised and that which He has promised He is able to perform. He is a god that cannot lie. If He said it, that settles it. Our God is immutable and He changes not!
Remember Kris Kringle (AKA Santa Claus)? Kris came to fulfill promises at the end of each year. You could write out your list and give it to your Mom or Dad to mail to the North Pole. We were told that Kris would get the list and if we were good all year long, Kris would honor your request. He had a list and he was checking it twice to find out who was naughty or nice! AND WE BELIEVED. At that time being spiritually correct was not being taught. Children grew up with fantasies - Peter Pan, The Easter Bunny, The Tooth Fairy so forth and so on. WITH A CHILD LIKE SPIRIT WE BELIEVED. You couldn't convince us that we were not getting what we wanted for Christmas. We bragged about what Santa Claus was going to bring us. We peeped out of our bedroom doors all night long on Christmas Eve to see if we could catch Santa Claus delivering the things on our list. We new that when we awaken Christmas Morning that there would be plenty gifts and toys under the Christmas tree BECAUSE WE BELIEVED.
Somewhere and somehow we have stopped believing. We once trusted in a God that we could not see, but we knew that He answered prayer. We boasted of how He was a God that you could not hurry, He would come 'don't you worry'. He may not come when you want Him, but He was always on time. When did we stop believing and trusting God?
