The Handwriting On The Wall
Part I
"Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from my mouth, and give them warning from me." Ezekiel 3:17
Daniel 5:2-6, 25-28
The cliché "handwriting on the wall" refers to something being quite simple and without question. What we are saying is that the answer is visible. It is in plain view. It is noticeable, detectable, evident; able to be seen! I would not have you ignorant to the enemy's devices.
Chapter 5 of the book of Daniel talks of King Belshazzar who gave a great banquet/feast for a thousand of his lords, his princes, his wives and his concubines. His father, King Nebuchadnezzar, had reigned some 60 years prior and had received sovereignty, greatness, glory and splendor from God. Because of his high position people and nations feared him. Those he wanted put to death were put to death; those he wanted to spare were spared, those who he wanted promoted were promoted and those he wanted humbled were humbled. Nebuchadnezzar was a man of great authority, but when his heart became arrogant, lifted up and his mind hardened with pride, he was deposed from his royal throne and stripped of his glory! God allowed him to be driven away from the very people who held in high esteem. He actually succumbed to life with the donkeys and he ate grass like cattle. His body was drenched with the dew of heaven until he knew, until he recognized, until he acknowledged the Most High God and it was this God that ruled in the kingdom of men and that this God appointed whomever He will!!
You will never fully succeed until you acknowledge the presence; the existence, the preeminence of God! You have what you have, you are who you are because of God. Hebrews 6:4 - "For it is impossible for those who were once ENLIGHTENED and have TASTED of the heavenly gift, and were made PARTAKERS of the Holy Ghost, And have TASTED the Good Word of God, and powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame…." You have 1) been enlightened - you have been informed, you know what's what. 2) You have tasted of the heavenly gift - you have experienced God; had a personal encounter. 3) You were made a partaker - you're not on the outside looking in. You are a participant, not just a spectator, but a participant; a giver or a receiver of the Holy Ghost and you don't want to acknowledge God? This scripture says that it would be impossible for you to renew when you have denied the Creator.
